These Terms of Service are between you ("User") and Faruk Büberci ("Operator"), who runs Timur Satrancı (the website, its installed-app version and related services: playing the computer, online matches, friends, messaging, rankings, the tutorial; together the "Service").
By using the Service or creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
To create an account and use social features such as friends, messaging, the global chat and online matches you must be at least 15. Under the rule added to Law No. 5651 by Law No. 7578, social network providers cannot serve children who have not turned 15; this rule enters into force on 1 November 2026. Under-15s can only play the computer without an account and use the tutorial.
If you are under 18 you must use the Service with the knowledge and consent of your legal guardian. By creating an account you declare that you meet these conditions; a false declaration can lead to your account being closed. When age-verification methods set by legislation take effect we will follow them, and may ask you to verify your age.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens on your account. If you notice unauthorised use, write to faruk.bubercii@gmail.com at once. You may not transfer or share your account.

You are responsible for content you add to the Service, such as your bio, profile photo, messages and chat. You allow us to use it as far as needed to provide, display and store it for you; you grant no right to use it for any other purpose.
The Operator is a hosting provider within the meaning of Law No. 5651 and is not obliged to monitor user content in advance or investigate unlawful activity. We do review rule violations that are reported or noticed; we may remove content, warn a user, suspend or close their account.
You can report a player or content with the "Report" button in the Service or by writing to faruk.bubercii@gmail.com. For content you consider unlawful (personality rights, intellectual property, etc.) state where it is and your reasons; we review it within a reasonable time and take down what the law requires. Requests of competent authorities are met within the framework of the legislation.
The Service's software, design, piece and image sets, texts, sounds and brand belong to the Operator and are protected by Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works; they may not be copied, distributed or used commercially without permission. The rules of Tamerlane chess and the historical information are open to everyone. You may freely share the move records of games you played.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available"; it is not promised to be uninterrupted or error-free. It may be interrupted temporarily for maintenance, updates, technical problems or compelling reasons; features may be changed or removed.
Ratings (Elo), rankings and statistics are for fun and are not official ratings. They may be corrected or reset in case of error, cheating or technical problems.
When you install the app on your device or play offline, the game's files are stored on your device (Cookie Policy). If you clear browser data, the offline files and your local records (settings, an unfinished game) may be deleted.
If you break the rules we may suspend or close your account temporarily or permanently. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; 30 days after the request your data is permanently erased. Guest records unused for more than 24 months are deleted automatically.
To the extent the law allows, because the Service is free of charge the Operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from its use (such as loss of data or rating, interruption, loss of profit).
Liability arising from intent and gross negligence (Turkish Code of Obligations Art. 115) and the rights granted by mandatory legislation, in particular consumer legislation, are outside this limit.
How your personal data is processed is explained in the Privacy Policy, the KVKK privacy notice and the Cookie Policy.
We may update these terms. We announce important changes within the Service and update the date at the top of the page. If you keep using the Service after a change you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can delete your account.
We may send you account, security and service notices (such as email verification and password reset). We do not send commercial electronic messages (advertising, promotion).
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. For applications made as a consumer, the competent bodies under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 (Consumer Arbitration Committees and Consumer Courts) have jurisdiction; for other disputes the courts and enforcement offices of Türkiye do. The mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence are reserved.
